THE Accra East Divisional Police has arrested two suspected mobile phone thieves, Mohammed Alhassan and David Kobsso, aged 17 and 18, respectively.
The two suspects, both students, attacked Sylvia Benson Mensah a few metres from her house with a machete and robbed her of her Samsung mobile phone valued at GH¢70.
Briefing the Daily Graphic in Accra, DSP Elizabeth Dassah of the Division said unfortunately for the robbers the Nungua Police night patrol team met and arrested them after they had taken to their heels. They were found in possession of a machete and a knife together with the stolen mobile phone.
She said the complainant later reported the incident to the Nungua police and at the charge office, she identified the two suspects who robbed her of her phone.
DSP Dassah said the suspects had been remanded in prison custody by an Accra Circuit Court. They are to be charged with conspiracy to rob and robbery.
