UNITED Bank of Africa (UBA) Ghana and Gateway Broadcasting Services (GBS) have entered into an alliance to deliver quality and affordable services to their existing and prospective customers.
Under the alliance, existing subscribers of GBS could conveniently pay their subscription bills at any UBA branch nation-wide. The alliance would also enable UBA to partner GBS for its consumer promotions which offered special prices on their installation and bouquet.
UBA Ghana is a subsidiary of the United Bank of Africa Plc and the largest financial services group in West Africa with assets in excess of $14 billion and over six million customers across West Africa.
GBS on the other hand is a new Pan-African pay-TV service with a balanced and exciting choice of premium content. The network is committed to supporting local content as well as offering major international programming ,ideal for the whole family.
The Chief Executive Officer of UBA, Mr Nnamdi Okonkwo said UBA’s superior Information and Technology infrastructure would enable them to offer customers the most convenient and safest platform for payment of GBS subscription bills.
“The UBA platform is highly automated with efficient transaction solutions. The platform is devoid of any manual manipulation and it enables the system to perform all sorts of validation such as ensuring that the GBS customer’s account number and ID are entered and updated on the same day and on real time basis”, he explained.
According to him the partnership would lead to a new era of best-in class payment services for subscribers of GBS.
He noted that building partnership with top global brands was part of UBA’s strategy which aims at creating an African institution that competed effectively in the market place.
Mr Michael Yamsom, General Manager of BGS said the alliance was the most exciting partnership that GBS had entered into following the successful partnership with the Ghana Football Association (GFA) that made GBS own the media rights to the Ghana Premiere league for the next three seasons.
“We will continue our partnership with the GFA to screen matches live when the Ghanaian season resumes whilst we still delight you with games from Tanzania and Ugandan league” he stated and thanked UBA for entering into that partnership with them.
He added that GBS would continue to deliver quality services at affordable prices to all Ghanaians in order to achieve its vision of bridging the digital divide through television.
